Comme Des Garçons
A Senior Project of Kennesaw State University
This was another project through my Major. This was high-end street wear line from the parent company Comme Des Garcons. This collection focused on the aspect of East meets West. I juxtaposed the textile choices of the West by using acid wash denim, leather, and mesh against the traditional to modern-day style of Japanese culture. I was inspired by the creator of CDG, Rei Kawakubo, to bring the past into the present be it the traditional samurai garb to the quintessential school uniform. I created the Spring and Summer line with corresponding prints and colors. I also created the prints for the winter and resort collections which were then given to members of my group to elaborate on the creation. I also used Adobe Illustrator to create the technical flats and in-store material. I used Adobe Photoshop for the hypothetical store front and in-store display.
